The Public Foundation for Support and Development of National Mass Media and UNICEF in Uzbekistan have formalized cooperation through a memorandum of understanding focused on strengthening media's role in promoting children's rights across the country.

Representatives from Al Jazeera Media Network, led by Director General Mustafa Souag, met today with the Mass Media Foundation to explore collaboration possibilities. Discussions focused primarily on establishing educational programs and professional training opportunities for Uzbek journalists through the Al Jazeera Media Institute.

Journalists and bloggers participated in a comprehensive two-day workshop designed to improve media coverage of disability-related topics, challenging existing stereotypes and promoting inclusive communication.

On March 25, a training session for journalists and bloggers on the ethical coverage of HIV-related issues was held at the office of the Public Foundation for Support and Development of National Mass Media. The event was organised by the Mass Media Foundation in collaboration with the country office of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) in Uzbekistan. The primary goal of the training was to promote accurate and ethical reporting on HIV in the media, raise public awareness, and reduce the stigma surrounding people living with HIV.

A meeting was held today with the participation of the leadership of the Mass Media Foundation, the European-Uzbek Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ), as well as representatives from national and international media and the corporate sector.
