Training on Responsible Reporting of Gender-Based Violence Cases Held in Tashkent Region
On December 24–25, a training workshop was held in the Tashkent region for court press secretaries and media representatives, focusing on the responsible reporting of court cases related to gender-based violence. The event was organised with the support of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, USAID, the East-West Management Institute (USA), the AIMC, and the Mass Media Foundation.
The primary goals of the training were to enhance the professional skills of court press secretaries and strengthen collaboration between the judiciary, the media, and civil society organisations to ensure the production of high-quality content on this critical issue.
The programme featured both theoretical sessions—lectures and presentations—and practical exercises, including the analysis of real-life cases. Participants explored the persistence of gender stereotypes, the protection of survivors, including victims of cyberviolence, and strategies for effective collaboration. Special emphasis was placed on developing a professional and ethical approach to covering sensitive topics while upholding ethical standards.
